What is the Step Up for Students Unique Abilities Scholarship?
The Step Up for Students Unique Abilities Scholarship is awarded to students who are over the age of 3 years old and are currently NOT in the public school system. These funds can be used to support your child's education and can be utilized for Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, curriculum, private school, and more. The scholarship typically awards about $10,000 per student per school year. To apply, visit the Step Up for Students website. Application is easy and should take no more than 20 minutes. You will need a script or letter from your child's doctor recommending speech therapy. Once awarded, the funds will be kept in an account and Step Up will be invoiced directly for services. The funds are not paid out directly to parents.

What are Natural Language Acquisition and Gestalt Language Processing?
Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) is a framework for assessing and treating Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs). These are children who learn language in chunks and often use scripts. These scripts can be from TV shows, movies, or everyday interactions. Many autistic children are GLPs. The NLA framework supports these children to move through stages from scripting to true, spontaneous language. Feel free to contact us to learn more! www.meaningfulspeech.com is also an excellent resource with tons of information.
What payment methods do you accept?
While cash, check or scholarship are preferred, we accept all major credit cards, HSA/FSA cards. If utilizing the SUFS scholarship, Play Together Speech Therapy will invoice the scholarship directly.
