Natural Language Acquisition for Gestalt Language Processors
Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) is a framework to assess and treat Gestalt Language Processors (GLPs). Some children learn language in "chunks" or "gestalts." You may also have heard the terms "delayed echolalia" or "scripting." Many autistic children are GLPs. The NLA framework does not attempt to reduce scripting, but through precise movement through stages, changes scripting into true, spontaneous language. This is done through child-led PLAY!!
Ms. Bethany has completed the Meaningful Speech NLA course which included over 26 hours of training. You can find her on the Meaningful Speech NLA Clinician Registry.
